I switched again.
Posted by HollyannSo I’m sitting around one day thinking that I like all the doodads on Facebook, and how I can put my pictures up there on a separate page and all, and wishing I could blog on there too, and so I google up blog things and discover WordPress, which lets me make pages or something, decide that I could just make a page for the photos and blog away, and that is why I am here. Still working on making it the way I want it, all I have really managed is to make my own header (explanation later) and find a stupid music player thing that contains no songs I know. No, I still haven’t even begun to figure out how to make a page of anything, let alone pictures, so try not to frustrate yourself trying to figure out what to click on to get to the pictures.
Anyway… I made my own header with no help from tech*cough*kerri*cough* support, and got it the right size and all. And put it where it belongs. As far as aesthetically pleasing, it works for me, so I don’t really care too much what everyone else thinks, which brings me to the explanation of holly.world, just in case you are one of the gazillion people in the world that are not Kerri, Emmy, or Todd. Take your left hand, point your index finger straight at the ceiling or the sky or your hat or whatever happens to be ‘up’ for you right now, and say, with authority, like you REALLY mean it, “Holly.” Now take your right hand, point your index finger at the floor or the grass or your shoes or whatever is ‘down’ for you right now, rotate it around your left index finger in big circles, and say, with authority, like you REALLY mean it, “World.” Keep revolving your world around your Holly until you are satisfied that everyone around you gets it. Holly. World. Get on board with the plan, all the cool people are.
I wasn’t really going to post anything until I figured WordPress out a bit better, not that it’s that difficult, in fact it seems to be amazingly user friendly so far, I just haven’t had a lot of time. But, I had to post something, because I am now exactly 5 days into the first new music from the Eagles in 7 years and the first all new studio album from them in 20, and I need to talk about that. It’s frighteningly good. It’s not often (even with the Eagles) that there is an entire album where I don’t find at least one song I am not that fond of, let alone a double album. Here it is. Of course I have my favorites (“Center of the Universe” and “Busy Being Fabulous” if you need to know) but there isn’t anything I skip over. I could, quite possibly, listen to “Center of the Universe” for about 987 hours straight and not be bothered by the repetitiveness. I would probably just want to hear it again when time was up. And, if you are of the opinion that “Seven Bridges Road” has been, until now, the best example of perfect harmonization by a popular band, ever (and you should be) then try “No More Walks in the Wood”, which, like “Seven Bridges Road” is practically a cappella. The only issue I have with any of the songs is with “I Dreamed There Was No War”. But given that it’s an instrumental song and therefore has no words to tell me which war or if it was a dream or a nightmare or if that was because 9/11 never happened or what, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it is a particularly lovely piece of instrumental music, and you don’t get that too often anymore. So. Now you have my opinion, and since we all know Holly.World., hie yourself off to Walmart or www.eaglesband.com (yep, only 2 places you can get it) and buy the thing. I don’t often encourage people to actually pay for music, but the guys deserve to get paid for this one, without a doubt, and at $10.98 for the download or $11.98 for the cd’s, it’s pretty reasonable for a double album.
